The Baden-Württemberg-based company Tartex + Dr. Ritter GmbH specializes in the production of premium food products for vegetarians as well as premium organic food products. The company’s products include bread spreads, frozen meals, condiments such as sauces and mustards, as well as various muesli breakfast cereals, soy products and organic drinks. For handling the products packed in boxes, the company uses an SSP vacuum spider from Schmalz that is equipped with special packaging suction pads. The packaging suction pads, which are ideally suited for this application, are noted for their flexible and adaptable sealing lip, reinforced body and wear-proof and abrasion-proof ELASTODUR ED-65 material. Every SPB1-60 suction pad is protected by a check valve. This means that boxes can be handled in threes as well as individually. There is no drop in vacuum, even when only a portion of the vacuum spider is used. This ensures flexibility in the number and size of the boxes to be handled. The SSP vacuum spiders have a modular design, and can be adapted to customer requirements down to the smallest detail. Almost all combinations of vacuum components, such as vacuum suction pads, vacuum generators, connections and attachment elements can be used.
