Vacuum Tube Lifter JumboErgo for Ergonomic Unloading of a Laser Processing Center

A laser is used to cut metal sheets in a processing center. Around 40,000 tons of metal sheet are processed here each year. Loading of the machines used to be done manually by two employees. To reduce the physical strain on employees, the company decided to purchase a vacuum lifting device from Schmalz. The vacuum tube lifter JumboErgo meets the requirements for this work step. The tube lifter is designed to handle a load of 110 kg. The JumboErgo is equipped with a double suction pad FM which guarantees safe handling even for partial coverage or when handling workpieces with gaps. Integrated flow resistors minimize leakage losses due to uncovered suction cells. The JumboErgo also features a venting unit. This enables quick release and depositing of the workpiece. Lifting and lowering is achieved solely by the force of the vacuum. The vacuum generator can be switched on and off via a radio remote control on the tube lifter. Energy costs can be significantly reduced by conveniently switching off the vacuum generator during breaks. The responsive column-mounted jib crane is also designed for loads weighing up to 110 kg and has a jib length of 4,500 mm. A greater working area can be covered thanks to a swivel angle of 270°. With the mobile base plate the crane can be transported by forklift to another location of use. The complete package enables efficient and ergonomic loading and unloading of the processing center whereby the physical strain on employees can be reduced in a sustainable manner.
